200 Young Entrepreneurs Gather at the Empire State Building

by / ⠀Startup Advice / November 14, 2011

This week 200 young entrepreneurs gathered on the 60th floor of the Empire State Building for Under30CEO’s entrepreneurial matchmaking session in New York City. The evening featured speaker Sharon Lechter, Co-author of Rich Dad Poor Dad who’s newly released book Outwitting the Devil is a remastered sequel to Napolean Hill’s Think and Grow Rich.

Many guests were surprised to see two kegs being wheeled into the Empire State Building to help lubricate social interaction, as drinks were on the house. The vibe was professional but laid back as attendees snapped pictures of the skyline and checked in at the landmark address on Facebook and Foursquare. Startups came to interact with investors, press and other like minded entrepreneurs. The evening’s sponsor, The Corporate Tax Network even awarded a free year of tax services to one lucky winner.

The Daily National came by to conduct video interviews with young entrepreneurs and broadcasted this clip from the event…

Entrepreneurs of note in addition to Sharon Lechter included Ron Williams, Founder of SnapGoods, a way to connect people to rent or borrow gear within their network or neighborhood, Anthony Saladino, Founder of Kitchen Cabinet Kings, one of the largest distributors of kitchen cabinetry on the internet, and Tammy Tibbetts, founder of non-profit She’s The First that sponsors girls’ education in the developing world, helping them be the first in their families to graduate. The Wall Street Journal, Inc Magazine, Tremor Video, Get Glue, The Ladders, Apple, American Express and Toyota all had representatives on the guest list.
