I think one thing that wasn't touched on is: why blog. It's a huge opportunity to develop a portfolio of work around what you love. You'll be able to use this for several different reasons, whether it's pursuing your passion on a professional level, connecting with other like minded people or establishing your expertise in a field you love. Agreed it is all about focus. You have to pick something and stick with it. If your spreading yourself thin you will only be able to keep it up for so long. Those 4 things are great!
