Job Hunting? 1,000 Plus Tech Jobs in NYC

by / ⠀Startup Advice / May 16, 2012

As part of Internet Week New York, Mayor Bloomberg and NY Digital released a map of the city highlighting over 500 of the cities startups, investors and co-working spaces. This is part of the cities effort to brand itself as an innovation hub. Just last week the “New Tech City” report was released highlighting New York’s growth in the tech sector over the past 5 years.

The map lets each company show if they have job openings and a link to learn more if they do. You can also add your own company to the map if it was missed by the NY Digital team. So far the map claims to have over 1,000 job opportunities from the companies on it.

Showcasing these jobs are in part to help attract more talent to the city by showing them the great opportunities at startups. It is also just a cool way to highlight what is going on in the city.

These job openings are no surprise considering the city plans to add 100,000 cloud computing jobs by 2015. The map also proudly boasts that New York is still maintaining a lead over Boston for venture capital deals. Silicon Valley is still the tech leader but New York is making the effort to close that gap.
