Social Security payments distributed on February 19

by / ⠀News / February 21, 2025

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is set to send out payments to beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of any month on February 26, 2025. This payment is part of the regular monthly distribution of Social Security benefits, which includes retirement, disability (SSDI), and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments. Beneficiaries can expect to receive payments via direct deposit or mailed checks, depending on their chosen method.

The SSA encourages recipients to use direct deposit to ensure timely receipt of funds and avoid potential mail delays or check processing issues. The cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for 2025 has increased benefits for millions of Social Security recipients. The average monthly payment for retired individuals is $1,976, while retired couples expect to receive an average of $3,089 monthly.

SSI beneficiaries will receive an average of $967 monthly for individuals and $1,450 for couples.

February 2025 Social Security payment dates

In addition to the regular February 26 payment, SSI recipients will receive their March payment on February 28 instead of March 1, as the regular payment date falls on a weekend.

The SSA follows a structured payment schedule based on beneficiaries’ dates of birth to ensure the timely distribution of benefits and prevent financial disruptions for retirees and individuals with disabilities. The payment schedule for February 2025 is as follows:

February 12: Beneficiaries who started receiving Social Security before May 1997. February 19: Beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th of any month.

February 26: Beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of any month. February 26: Beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of any month. Beneficiaries are encouraged to stay informed about the Social Security payment schedule and understand their benefit amounts to better plan their finances.
