One Water Introduces the World’s First Interlocking Bottle Design

by / ⠀Featured / April 21, 2025

ONE Water has delivered something truly game-changing to the overly saturated bottled water market, where differentiation between bottle shapes is rare. The world’s first-ever interlocking bottled water is reshaping the way everyone thought water could be packaged, shipped, and shared.

What started as an idea to somehow merge innovation with global unity has evolved into a patented innovation that has already gained global recognition. This past January, ONE Water attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, taking home the “Best Innovative Technology” award during the Zenith Global Awards. This award has secured them in a place with not just premium water brands, but within design and supply chain innovation.

One Water

A Bottle That Connects, Physically and Symbolically

Over the course of several years, ONE Water was conceptualized by their team in house for their interlocking bottle system. There was one goal in mind: create packaging that reflects the brand’s larger mission of connection and unity, while solving real-world supply chain challenges, and that is exactly what they did.

As functional as the bottles are, they are also symbolic in the sense that each bottle is crafted from recycled plastic. Connecting seamlessly within each other, using grooved and molded plastic fittings along its sides. Allowing the bottles to be able to lock into each other with precision, which allows for easier stacking, tighter packing, and an experience that feels more innovative than any other bottles at the supermarket.

Joelle El-Khatib, the CEO of ONE Water, commented, “Our interlocking design not only reflects our values of unity and innovation, it radically reduces inefficiencies in distribution and storage.”

Reducing Carbon Footprint by Up to 35 Percent

The interlocking bottle design goes beyond aesthetics and symbolism, it reduces the carbon footprint by up to 35 percent, by optimizing stackability and transportation. Average water bottled packaging wastes space during shipping and storage, which leads to excess palettes, higher fuel consumption, and unnecessary emissions. With ONE Water’s bottles they will need fewer trucks to transport palettes, they will have more efficient shelf stocking, and a massive reduction in environmental impact.

The bottle is also fully recyclable, reinforcing ONE Water’s commitment to long-term sustainability while maintaining the convenience consumers expect.

Innovation With Purpose

Brands are under massive pressure to lead innovation and minimize their carbon footprint. ONE Water has chosen to lead through with their values. They are more than just a design, there is a message that needs to be said to all current and future water bottle manufacturers.

Every connected bottle is a visual representation of the brand’s founding philosophy: that water isn’t just a product. It’s a global connector. Just as water flows freely across borders, ONE Water’s interlocking design is a physical embodiment of the unity the company seeks to communicate.

The Future of Beverage Packaging

The interlocking technology is a turning point for not only the brand, but for all bottled beverage brands at large. Consumers, retailers, and supply chains have been demanding change and innovative solutions, ONE Water listened, and is redefining what a water bottle can and should be.

The company has secured patents for its design, safeguarding years of research and development, and hinting at a future where purpose-driven innovation leads to market disruption.
