3. Bill Gates

  • First Startup: Traf-O-Data in 1972
  • Age Then: 17

Bill Gates was 17 years old when he founded Traf-O-Data, a computer software company that reported roadway traffic data. The company was then discontinued in 1975. Bill has since then founded other companies, including Cascade Investment, BEN, TerraPowe, bgC3, and Microsoft. Microsoft was his most popular venture, which started in 1975. Later on, he also started a philanthropic organization, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

4. Mark Zuckerberg

In 2012, Facebook went public and was valued at $19 billion.

6. Mark Cuban

  • Age Then: 25

The last addition to the list of youngest company founders is no less than a shark when it comes to investing; Mark Cuban. He first started his business in 1995 when he founded Broadcast.com. The entrepreneur had originally gone into the telecommunications industry with the idea to sell phone services over the Internet. The company launched in 1956 and by 1998 it was the fifth-largest Internet company in the U.S. In 1999, Broadcast.com was sold to Yahoo for $ 4.7 billion.

What He’s Doing Today

Cuban currently owns the NBA team, the Dallas Mavericks, and holds stakes in AXS TV, Magnolia Pictures, and several other start-ups. He’s also one of the investors (sharks) on the television show Shark Tank and has made several investments in start-ups appearing on the show.
