In honor of Buffett’s late first wife, 1.05 million shares were donated to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation. These groups all specialize in different areas. The Howard G. Buffett Foundation works to end hunger, reduce conflict, and strengthen public safety, while the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation focuses on reproductive health. Both the Sherwood Foundation and the NoVo Foundation help Nebraska-based charities, but the latter is especially concerned with advancing the well-being of women and girls.
