Sony has rolled out an update to its camera software, introducing a multi-cam surveillance feature that allows users to control up to four cameras concurrently. This function is currently limited to iPadOS.
The freshly-developed multi-cam feature presents a significant advancement in camera stream management across mobile devices and tablets. It uniquely upgrades Sony’s Monitoring and Control (M&C) app with advanced multi-camera surveillance capabilities, providing users with remarkable versatility in surveillance tasks.
The Multi-Cam function provides new efficacy and viewer control by enabling simultaneous tracking and monitoring across various camera feeds. This dramatic improvement enhances the efficiency of real-time surveillance and response, bringing an all-rounded solution in mobile and tablet surveillance technology.
Though the M&C app is available to iOS and Android users, the multi-camera surveillance function is presently exclusive to iPadOS. This function allows for both wired and wireless connections, including Wi-Fi and hotspot options, which are highly valuable for remote locations.

Plans are underway to extend this feature to iPhone and Android users, though the timeline remains indefinite.
The iPadOS users are only currently able to appreciate the full versatility of the app, with a user-friendly interface making multi-camera management and control effortless. Hopes among users for expanding this feature to a more comprehensive user base in future updates are high.
The new software update boosts the range of Sony cameras that are compatible with the multi-cam app. Added models include the Burano, FX6, FX3, FX30, Alpha 1, Alpha 9 III, and Alpha 7S III. Additionally, the latest update significantly enhances the overall app performance in terms of speed and stability while improving the accessibility of the full-screen monitoring function for a more streamlined user experience.
Alongside unveiling the new feature, Sony has improved pre-existing app features. Users can now customize up to three tools for display and control settings according to their needs. The adjustable parameters include frame rate, sensitivity, shutter speed, ND filter, look, and white balance, offering a whole new level of user control and customization.
