Apple has recently announced significant updates to iPadOS 18, among which are new features, apps, and enhancements designed to improve the user’s interaction with the Apple Pencil, all of which are backed by Apple’s own Intelligence.

The noteworthy updates include a new feature called Universal Control which will support simultaneous interaction between iPad and Mac, improving the user experience. In addition, Apple Pencil users can look forward to a more streamlined experience with a new feature – the Quick Note.

The Swift Playground app, a major learning platform, will have an updated user interface making it easier for coding enthusiasts to create apps directly on their iPad. Apple’s unique intelligence is at the heart of these updates, making the experience seamless and user-friendly.

Apple has also increased its focus on privacy with the introduction of Mail Privacy Protection, preventing senders from knowing whether an email has been opened and hiding users’ IP addresses. Furthermore, Siri can now process requests offline, ensuring that no user information is sent to the cloud, enhancing privacy even further.

Another significant feature is Apple Intelligence, an advanced system that enhances user experience by understanding and generating language and images, conducting operations across applications and utilizing personal context. It learns from users’ interactions and behaviours, customizing each experience and providing personalized suggestions.

Among other updates are a new Keychain app for storing credentials securely, and improved screen-sharing functionality.

Improvements in Calendar and Map functions offer a more dynamic user experience, including the ability to view and fulfill reminders directly from the Calendar and customization options for Maps. The Notification Center provides users with an overview of their system updates and the New Home Screen Widgets offer real-time data customized to the user’s preferences.

For users with unique needs, iPadOS 18 allows vocal inputs for typing through Dictation mode and AI-based predictive text that enhances the typing experience.

Finally, iPadOS 18 provides improved support for external screens, enabling players to have more flexibility in their gaming experience. It also introduces a device synchronization feature that allows games to be continued across different devices. All these updates reinforce Apple’s commitment to improving user experience across all Apple devices.
