According to the Social Security Administration, individuals filing individually can receive up to $943 per month, while couples filing jointly can receive up to $1,415. Additionally, essential persons, who provide necessary care to SSI recipients, can receive up to $472.

These amounts have increased by 3.2% from last year due to inflation adjustments. To qualify for SSI payments, applicants must be at least partially blind or have a physical or mental condition that severely limits their daily activities for at least 12 months, or be expected to result in death. It is important to note that SSI payments are distinct from regular Social Security benefits.
Receiving one type of payment does not automatically qualify an individual for the other. Recipients can use tools provided by the Social Security Administration to determine their payment totals.
