An App Bridging Political Divide with Respect: The Vision of PoliTorium

Political division was at an all-time high leading up to the 2024 presidential election. With increased polarization, the space for open, respectful dialogue has dwindled. PoliTorium, an app focusing on free speech that promotes respectful discussion, has come forward as a solution to increasing political tensions.

PoliTorium hopes to bring Americans together to a place of mutual respect, even with disagreeing points of view. “We believe there is always hope for discussion. With an open mind and respectful attitude, together, we can be the change we would all like to see,” says a representative from PoliTorium.

Founding Story

After completing his tenure in the Army, Thomas Moore returned to the States, which no longer felt so united. He realized a lack of a platform promoting honesty, integrity, facts, and respect.

Without any experience in programming or app-building, Thomas and his wife set out to build PoliTorium, a place where Americans could disagree respectfully.

“It was something we believed so strongly and passionately about that we did whatever we could to teach ourselves these skills and bring this idea to fruition,” Thomas said.

Honesty and Respect: PoliTorium’s Core Values

The app has led with its values since its conception. PoliTorium aims to be a platform where users can disagree and engage in civil discourse while maintaining open-minded communication and respect and upholding truthful facts.

The founders of PoliTorium are advocates of American values— freedom of speech is an important right that was once fought for, so it should be used to promote understanding from both sides of the aisle.

What Sets PoliTorium Apart

There is no other app on the market aiming to promote freedom of speech while upholding community guidelines like PoliTorium. The app is in a unique position of upholding democratic rights and promoting what other platforms have little control over– respect.

Many apps that claim to promote free speech end up becoming echo chambers, with users lacking varying political perspectives. As a nonpartisan platform, PoliTorium aims to host various political perspectives, encouraging understanding between individuals who might not interact otherwise.

The Company’s Goals for Americans

Beyond respect, PoliTorium hopes to encourage younger generations to participate in political discussions. PoliTorium will become a place where individuals can learn about varying perspectives, leading to open-mindedness among people new to voting.

Additionally, the founders of PoliTorium encourage users to become politically active on all levels, including in their county, city, state, and nationwide.

Using PoliTorium serves educational purposes. Not only are users exposed to diverse political opinions, they learn how to disagree in a civil manner. “We truly believe that everybody is capable of having an open-minded conversation with one another. We can all learn from one another, and we will see that idea come to life,” Thomas adds.

The Future of PoliTorium: Promoting Respectful Politics

PoliTorium’s goal is to no longer have to tiptoe around those awkward political conversations at the dinner table. The platform promotes disagreement in a way that upholds mutual respect for fellow contributing members of society.
