Vice President Kamala Harris appeared to call former President Donald Trump a “coward” during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania on Sunday. Harris spoke to staff, volunteers, and supporters at a campaign field office in Beaver County, just outside of Pittsburgh. “This campaign is about a recognition that, frankly, over the last several years, this kind of perversion has taken place,” Harris said.

“The measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you lift up, not who you beat down. Anybody who’s about beating down other people is a coward.”
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung responded to Harris’s remarks by criticizing her lack of media engagement. “The Kamala campaign – liars, frauds, and cowards.”
Vice President Harris now has more paths to the presidency than Donald Trump — that is, according to WaPo, she is competitive in more states that could add up to 270 votes.

“Harris won’t even do a sit-down interview or press conference – not even with a friendly outlet – because she’s scared to death of being exposed for the coward and fraud that she is,” Cheung said.
Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, made the first stop in Pennsylvania after they kicked off a campaign bus tour at nearby Pittsburgh International Airport. The tour through western Pennsylvania came on the eve of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
Harris criticizes Trump during campaign
Pennsylvania, with its 19 electoral votes, is the largest prize among the seven battleground states that will likely decide the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.
An average of recent polls indicates the race in Pennsylvania is currently tied between Harris and Trump. Both campaigns have placed significant emphasis on the state. Trump held a rally in Wilkes Barre on Saturday and declared, “We’re winning by a lot in Pennsylvania.”
His running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, will hold separate events focusing on the economy in Pennsylvania on Monday. Harris has changed her campaign since becoming the Democratic nominee, bringing back her signature Chuck Taylor’s and personalizing the campaign with her running mate. During their bus tour, Harris and Walz visited a phone bank, a firehouse, a football practice, and a local restaurant, connecting with the community along the way.
This marks Harris’s second visit to Pennsylvania in as many weeks. She acknowledged the challenging road ahead but maintained an underdog spirit. We have a lot of work to do to earn the vote of the American people,” she told reporters.
