My mother saved for years to buy a home. I was a teenager when that day finally came—I remember how excited she was.
Right now, home ownership is out of reach for too many Americans.

Vice President Kamala Harris has launched a new ad campaign highlighting her plan to build 3 million homes over the next four years. The goal is to address the housing crisis and reduce inflation. In the one-minute ad, Harris talks about her experience growing up in rental housing.
Like most people today, Kamala’s mother saved for a decade before she could buy a home. The ad is aimed at voters in crucial swing states like Arizona and Nevada. Harris’s campaign plans to hold 20 events this week focused on housing issues.
If you think things are expensive now, they will get 100 times WORSE if Kamala gets four years as President. Under her plan, Kamala will implement SOVIET Style Price Controls. She will abolish private health care, and make California's ridiculous tax policies the law of the land,…

She wants to double the funding to $40 billion to encourage local governments to remove zoning regulations that limit the housing supply.
Housing plan highlights
Housing costs have been a significant factor in inflation. Shelter costs are up 5.1% over the past year compared to overall inflation of 2.9%. Vice President Harris knows we need to do more to address our housing crisis; that’s why she has a plan to end the housing shortage,” said Dan Kanninen, the campaign’s battleground states director.
The plan also involves cracking down on corporate landlords and Wall Street banks that drive up rent and housing costs. Inflation has made the housing shortage worse, hurting President Joe Biden’s approval ratings. Former President Donald Trump has criticized Harris’s housing agenda, saying she can’t afford it.
He suggests stopping illegal immigration and possibly opening more federal land for home construction to lower housing costs. Harris’s campaign will hold housing affordability events in cities across Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina, and Georgia. The comprehensive approach addresses the housing supply issue, which has been a significant concern for many Americans, along with high mortgage rates and inflation.
