Cena Retirement

John Cena has made it clear that his decision to retire from WWE in 2025 is final. In a recent interview, Cena emphasized that no amount of money can change his mind about hanging up his boots in December. “There isn’t a check writer with enough money to change my mind when I hang it up in December,” Cena said.

“I don’t want to continue for ego or financial gain. I built a relationship of trust and authenticity over the years with the WWE, and people who think I suck and people who believe in me, they know that I shoot them straight and I’m trustworthy. I mean what I say: when I’m done in December, I am done.

It is the last time I will perform in a ring.”

Cena shocked fans at this year’s Money in the Bank event by announcing his retirement plans. He intends to conclude his illustrious career with one final run in the company. Looking beyond 2025, Cena noted that he would be happy to appear as a WWE ambassador occasionally.

Cena’s final farewell tour plans

However, as far as performing in the ring, December 2025 will mark the end of his career. “I’ll be a member of the WWE family as an ambassador and a grateful one, but you will see me wear this [his suit], not the wristbands, the jorts, the ball cap.

In December 2025, that goes away, and that’s why we’re putting so much equity and emphasis on this farewell tour,” Cena explained. The WWE Universe eagerly anticipates Cena’s final run, with reports suggesting plans for him to challenge for a world title during this period. Cena expressed his desire to create a memorable experience for fans of all generations.

“It truly is the last time for generations for grandparents, parents, and kids to get together simultaneously. Grandparents could say, ‘I didn’t know about wrestling, and my son dragged me here.’ That son now has a son and daughter of their own, and they like John Cena, and now their kid likes Cody Rhodes. I want to try to do something special where we can all get together one last time and go through 25 years worth of memories,” Cena stated.

John Cena’s farewell tour is shaping up to be a historic chapter in WWE history, bringing together fans of all ages to celebrate his remarkable career. As the leader of the Cenation prepares to bid farewell, his legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time is firmly secured.
