Humankind faces several huge issues, three of which are combating climate change, ending social injustice, and reducing poverty. While global non-profit organizations have raised awareness and funds to address these impending issues, countries’ governments are still the most powerful bodies that can make tangible change happen and address these problems.

Developed and democratic countries like the United States of America are expected to take immediate action against the rising tension due to these crises. A recently published book by American author John Farrow, I Vote and I Deplore Politicians, argues that the US’ government should be taking drastic measures in implementing positive changes in society.

According to John, he wrote the book as a statement of the core problems resulting in the continued dysfunction of the country. He aims to contribute in putting forward a solution, helping make a better future for the next generation – just like how the founding fathers of America envisioned.

Through the book, John wants to draw attention to the modern problems that people, especially Americans, face today. It also discusses why the people of America should make wise decisions when choosing the country’s leaders. With many self-serving individuals being elected to positions of power, he believes that they should be reminded of their responsibilities to the people who voted them in.

“There’s so much at stake if people remain silent on this issue,” John says. “As part of my mission to address social injustice and climate change, it’s time to let my voice be heard. I encourage the citizens of America to let their voices echo to the higher-ups and create positive change for the future of the country.”

John shares that his strong advocacy was born from the distrust and division he experienced firsthand when securing reliable aid for people who truly needed it. His book explains that it’s possible for Americans to enjoy a more equitable economic environment if the government ends its non-essential or obsolete programs and starts developing new ones that will benefit the most people, as well as help preserve the environment.

“The society we live in now focuses more on surviving day to day rather than living their lives fully. My vision is to have an enriched and secured future for the next generations, where they have the opportunity and ability to pursue their ambitions and dreams,” John says. “This will only be possible if more people refuse to stay silent and become part of the solutions necessary to change the world. I truly believe the American people can change the dangerous course that the country, the planet, and people’s lives are on. To do this, people must step forward and ask how they can be part of the solution.”

I Vote and I Deplore Politicians also highlights the fact that countries with leaders who support their citizens have lower crime rates. The book aims to help readers recognize that the society they live in is not safe anymore with climate change, and that the government is not exhibiting leadership on slowing it down. John implores the public to take it upon themselves to create the change they want to see in the world.

Furthermore, the author wants to prove that it’s not too late for Americans to reclaim the country’s democratic destiny by creating a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. He believes that this should start with filling Congress with honorable persons who prioritize the well-being of the citizens rather than following a self-serving agenda. John remains steadfast in his belief that people have the divine right to be free and that they have the moral imperative to choose their destiny. He emphasizes that there was no intent of ambiguity when the founding fathers drafted the country’s Declaration of Independence.

As part of John’s advocacy, he envisions having the chance to bring his plans for the nation to the White House.

“It’s important that I discuss with the President the critical steps they can take to ensure the next generation’s future. The country’s well-being rests in the hands of the people sitting in Congress, and I can’t stand idly knowing that I can make a difference today,” John says. “Climate change will soon dictate the fate of life on the planet. People are suffering from poverty and social injustices, and there hasn’t been any significant change, even if new names entered Congress. They need to be reminded about the issues plaguing society, and the people need to unite and let their voices be heard.”
