Kansas City Chamber recently disclosed its Top 10 nominees for the 2024 Small Business of the Year award, triggering anticipation and excitement within multiple industry leaders. An array of businesses, ranging from innovative startups to industry moguls in healthcare, manufacturing, and retail, are part of the nominees.
This diversity mirrors the economic dynamism of Kansas City’s small business sphere. As the competition escalates, the nominees are preparing for the concluding stages, while the city impatiently awaits the announcement of the victor.
Joe Reardon, the President and CEO of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, commends the quality and dedication of the applicants in this year’s 60 award submissions. Despite the challenges of the past year, these entrepreneurs displayed remarkable resilience and creativity, proving the energetic dynamism of Kansas City’s business community.
The top 10 shortlisted businesses were announced last Friday morning via the Chamber’s social media platforms. The selections were made after comprehensive evaluations by a panel of industry experts.
Unveiling Kansas City’s small business contenders
The community now looks forward to next month’s final awards event.
Amongst the shortlisted is Sherry Lumpkins, owner of Blue Symphony. She expressed her gratitude for the recognition and noted the importance of industry collaboration. She values and applauds her team’s consistent dedication, creativity, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Other nominees include DMC Service, Inc., Overflow, Perfect Promotions, Quantum Resource Professionals, SnapIT Solutions, Stellar Image Studios, Taliaferro & Browne, The Next Paige Agency, and Walz Tetrick Advertising; signifying a broad spectrum of diverse industries like technology, marketing, civil engineering, talent acquisition, and healthcare staffing.
The Small Business of the Year winner will be revealed at the Small Business Awards Luncheon at the Westin Crown Center on June 13th. This will be followed by a celebratory cocktail hour for networking and salutation. The event wraps up with dinner and a stimulating keynote speech from entrepreneur and author, Sara Blakely.
