It can lead you to unexpected places, such as the floor of a dance competition, behind the counters at a busy kitchen, or even to the big screen in theaters. This has been the journey for Liora Kats. She discovered a love for acting when she made her first appearance in a feature film at twelve years old. Now, she has pursued her acting career under the bright lights of New York City. She recently made her stage debut in the role of Vanessa in Significant Other, marking an exciting milestone in her journey. As a rising star, Kats has traveled the world, driven by her deep dedication to the art of storytelling.
Liora Kats
Liora Kats was born in the Netherlands to a Dutch father and a Ukrainian mother. Being immersed in multiple cultures from a young age shaped her worldview and ignited a lifelong love for travel. During her childhood, she explored a wide range of talents and passions, including cooking, baking, Krav Maga, playing the piano, Latin dancing, chess, and many more. Yet, among all these pursuits, acting stood out as the one that consistently called her back, ultimately becoming her true passion.
Kats proved to have a flair for dance, earning the place of vice-champion for Latin dancing in the Netherlands. It was this ability that landed her a role in a feature film. Twelve years old at the time, the energy of the film set mesmerized her, planting a dream of an acting career inside her. In high school, her drama teacher noted her promise as a gifted actress and encouraged her to audition for a Nickelodeon casting call, which set her acting career in motion.

While Kats enjoyed a flourishing acting career at a young age, her wanderlust kicked in after she graduated high school. Eager to see the world, she traveled to over 36 countries across five continents. She considers these experiences as the inspiration behind her work. “The people I’ve met, the cultures I’ve experienced, and the places I’ve seen have all allowed me to view life from so many different perspectives,” she states.
Before her travels, Kats worked multiple jobs, including as a sous chef, and became financially independent at a young age. However, acting continued to enter her life. “The magic of storytelling, of fully immersing yourself in a role, is something I never want to stop experiencing,” she affirms. To continue pursuing this passion, Kats attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. While there, she explored the techniques and tools that would help her deepen her mastery of the craft. She has since made appearances in multiple major films and earned a nomination for Best Actress at the Silver Fox Awards.
Enjoying her life in New York City, she looks forward to the exciting roles that lie ahead. “I want to keep acting, keep telling stories, and work on more diverse and challenging roles that allow me to explore different aspects of the human experience,” she states. With her diverse talents that have brightened screens and charmed audiences across the world, her acting career is certain to rise to new heights.
