FoundHERS Suite, a co-working initiative crafted by LaTanya Orr has opened its doors in Beverly. This 2,300-square-foot facility provides a range of amenities for women entrepreneurs, including a lounge, conference rooms and a podcast studio. Orr’s objective is to foster a supportive, collaborative environment where women can grow their businesses.
Orr, originally from Beverly, lived in Michigan for 30 years before envisioning FoundHERS Suite. The concept arose from her personal experiences and the realization of a significant gap in resources for women entrepreneurs. Orr’s vision includes providing a safe and inclusive space to facilitate mentorship, networking, and business development focused on women. Her aim is to cultivate a sisterhood of successful businesswomen who can support and inspire each other.
The Rehoboth Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship at FoundHERS Suite offers support services such as accounting, legal assistance, marketing and nonprofit management. Through workshops, networking events, and mentoring programs, the center has comprehensive business development strategies tailored to women’s needs.
Empowering women entrepreneurs: Beverly’s co-working space
This unique facility is located in the heart of Rehoboth and aims to become a thriving hub for women entrepreneurs.
The co-working space offers various membership plans, starting from a $29 monthly package for virtual event access to a $400 fee for a private office. Services include shared facilities such as meeting rooms, lounge area, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The facility also offers additional services such as administrative support and discounted rates for conference rooms. Members have options for daily, monthly or yearly commitments, with simple online payment methods and flexible contract durations to suit their needs.
The grand opening of the FoundHERS Suite was well received by local dignitaries including Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) and Karyn Pettigrew, CEO of ZoeGoes. Pettigrew especially praised the strategic location of the facility within a friendly neighborhood.
Orr, a University of Michigan alumna, launched FoundHERS Suite using $40,000 from her savings and retirement funds. Establishing a physical space represented a significant shift from her previous experiences but exemplified her commitment to the venture. The transition from academia to entrepreneurship was a huge step, yet Orr was invigorated by the challenge and dedicated to making her mark in the industry.
In the future, Orr plans to blend virtual and physical service and event offerings, starting with a free screening of the Netflix film “Black Barbie” in June.
