"Red's Relocation"

Red’s Muffler Shop, a prominent family-run auto repair business, has relocated after over four decades in the vicinity of Five Points, Urbana. The well-known auto shop has transitioned to a more substantial facility on North Prospect Avenue, better fitted to accommodate the store’s expanding clientele.

This relocation denotes Red’s Muffler Shop’s enduring growth and success in providing top-quality auto repair services. The updated venue also offers increased customer accessibility, supplementing ample parking space and a more approachable service area.

The Shaw family-owned business has transferred its operations to premises at 2001 N. Kenyon Rd, formerly utilized by Pro-Tech Motors. The decision to undertake this move was steered by the urge to widen their workspace, subsequently improving productivity and efficiency and fulfilling the escalating needs of their clientele. With their stellar leadership, the Shaw family has been crucial in this shift, striving to guarantee a seamless transition.

The previous tenants, Pro-Tech Motors, departed the space last year, affording the Shaw family the perfect chance to move in.

Red’s Muffler Shop’s strategic relocation

They have since made significant changes to the site, vis-à-vis their specific business needs. This venture is considered a calculated investment for the business, anticipated to augment its competitiveness and enhance its long-term strategic growth.

The Shaw family vocalized their enthusiasm about this relocation and the progression of their business, inviting their customers to visit and savor the new location. Despite the demanding move, Wayne Shaw, proprietor of the auto repair shop, attended to a 1964 Ford Falcon on opening day, thus reinstating their trademark quality service.

The shop’s relocation resulted from its prior site being labeled a “redevelopment property,” indicating potential eviction. Consequently, the owners shifted to a new location, ensuring stability and continuity. This relocation is also expected to present new prospects for business expansion and gaining more customers.

The Shaw family’s establishment of the repair shop on May 13, 2024, made it an essential part of the local community. Their commitment to quality, combined with their technical proficiency and excellent customer service, made them a leading provider in the auto repair industry.

With a warm smile and years of industry experience, the Shaw family invites loyal customers and prospective clients to their new venue. They remain committed to upholding the high-quality service they’re known for while innovating to adapt to market needs. The family anticipates the new phase in their business journey and expresses gratitude for the community’s continuous support.
