Social Security payment schedule for November

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has announced the payment schedule for November 2024. Millions of Americans rely on these benefits to make ends meet each month. There are a few key dates to keep in mind.

For those who started receiving benefits before May 1997, payments will arrive on November 1st. If your birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of the month and you started benefits after May 1997, expect your check on November 13th. Those with birthdays between the 11th and 20th will be paid on November 20th.

Finally, if your birthday is between the 21st and 31st, your payment will come on November 27th. Some beneficiaries will actually receive two payments in November. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients can expect their regular monthly payment on the 1st.

However, since December 1st falls on a Sunday this year, the SSA will send out the December SSI payment early, on November 29th. To be eligible for SSI, you must meet income and resource limits set by the SSA.

You also need to be a U.S. resident and either blind, disabled, or over 65 years old. If you don’t receive your payment on the expected date, the SSA advises contacting your bank first. There may simply be a delay in posting the funds.

However, if the payment is still missing or you suspect theft, call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213. They will investigate and replace the payment if it was indeed due to you. These Social Security payments provide crucial financial relief for many, especially with rising inflation.

By understanding the schedule and requirements, beneficiaries can ensure they receive the support they’re entitled to. A little preparation can go a long way in maximizing these benefits to cover necessary expenses.
